Overview
Hosted by the Rapid Transition Alliance and New Weather Institute. There are accelerating moves by cities to reduce car traffic and cut air pollution – both for public health and safer cities, and to tackle the climate emergency. We will hear from activists and campaigners at the heart of initiatives that are pushing for and making car free cities a reality. We will explore the possibilities as well as the obstacles for cities in this need of rapid transition. Speakers include Andrew Simms, New Weather Institute UK, Doug Gordon, Car Free megacities campaign and producer of the podcast War on Cars, Hirra Khan Adeogun, head of Car Free Megacities campaign, Anna Jonsson, New Weather Sweden.
