Launch of the Rapid Transition Alliance

The launch of the Rapid Transition Alliance coincides with the start of the 2018 international climate negotiations (COP24). As well as introducing the Alliance, the event has been designed to put our aims into practice – creating a space for participants to brainstorm examples of rapid, inclusive and fair change, including personal pivotal moments.

News of the launch was shared through various media channels and networks:

• Immediately after the event, Amelia Womack appeared on Politics Live to talk about tackling climate change and highlighted the Alliance and its work.
• The launch was featured on the BBC Radio 4 programme; The World Tonight (starts at 31.20).
• It was the first working day of the climate talks in Poland, and various others included news of our arrival with what was happening at the conference, like this piece from the Climate News Network.
• Members too have been posting blogs welcoming the Alliance.

We are very ambitious to shift the debate as fast as possible about the possibilities of rapid transition and we will be building the foundation of evidence based hope with the help of our members and wider networks.
